NeNe Leakes BLASTS Cancer-Stricken Husband, Calls Him “Evil”
Back in June, NeNe Leakes revealed that her husband has cancer.
Even then, she confessed that she was struggling with her new role as a caretaker.
Now, NeNe is going off on Gregg in public posts, accusing his behavior of being grouchy and “evil.”
Gregg Leakes shared some positivity on Instagram, addressing his post “to all my men.”
The generally upbeat and seemingly enlightened words clearly struck a nerve with NeNe.
In a now-deleted Instagram comment, she called him out as the last person to be handing out advice.
“Well u need to do everything you posted!” NeNe wrote.
NeNe then demanded that Gregg “Practice what you preach.”
NeNe’s post continued.
it sounds like she had really let her frustrations bottle up, because she let them explode on Instagram.
“You need to pray for yourself!” NeNe announced about Gregg.
In case anyone was wondering why she was so unhappy with him, she made it clear.
“This mean, grouchy, evil stuff u pulling these days are NOT cool,” NeNe wrote.
Though she deleted the comment, she also tweeted on the subject.
NeNe is fortunate enough to not have cancer, but she’s pretty sure that she wouldn’t let it warp her behavior like she describes.
“I would just think if I have or had cancer, I would see life so differently!” NeNe tweets.
NeNe continues, predicting that she would “not be mean, grouchy, and evil for no real reason!”
“But that’s me,” she says.
Clearly she is emotionally exhausted on multiple levels.
NeNe then invites her fans and followers: “Pray for me.”
A fan took pity and replied to NeNe, perhaps speaking from a place of direct or indirect experience.
“Unfortunately,” the fan wrote. “The closet person receives the undeserved lashing out.”
That is too often very true, and part of the reason that serious illnesses are so hard on the entire family.
“Stay strong Sis,” the commenter writes. “Just breathe.”
That advice, meant as a comfort, did not have the intended effect.
“Naw,” NeNe replies in a follow-up tweet. “Don’t think i can do it.”
Meanwhile, on Instagram, commenters tried to call out NeNe for seeming less than patient with Gregg.
“Chileeee shut up!” NeNe replied.
“Gregg has done so much s–t!” NeNe said. “It didn’t just start!”
See, serious ailments exact an emotional and mental toll, and so do their treatments.
Unfortunately, this can lead for the person fighting for their life to also make the lives of their loved ones a living hell.
They’re so worn out and stressed that they lash out at those closest to them.
“While u commenting saying s–t to me,” NeNe suggests. “Ask him what has he done!”
That sounds like a fair retort, given her mood.
NeNe realized that some people had the image of Gregg laying in a hospital bed most hours of the day, feeble, while she rails about him on social media.
She took steps to liberate them from this misunderstanding.
“Oh and by the way,” NeNe’s comment continued. “Gregg isn’t bed stricken and needing daily help!”
It’s an understandable mistake to make. Someone having cancer can mean a wide range of things.
“You got it twisted,” NeNe concluded.
Previously, on Watch What Happens Live, NeNe was already speaking — albeit more gently — about the difficulty of being a caregiver.
“The day that they told us that Gregg has cancer, my life changed in that moment,” NeNe confessed.
NeNe explained: “Being a care taker’s very hard. It’s just been very difficult”
“I feel like that day I lost my husband,” she admitted.
NeNe explained: “because he’s not with me, we don’t do the things that we normally do together.”
“We’re not even in the same bedroom,” NeNe added.
“It feels like a very slow divorce,” NeNe elaborated. “It really does.”
She and Gregg have been literally divorced before, too. This is their seccond marriage together.
“Because we’re in two different places right now,” NeNe explained.
“And this is not anything that he can help, he can’t control this,” NeNe lamented. “This is his body.”
“And this time in our relationship, this is when your vows are tested,” she shared.
NeNe concluded: “Through sickness and health, honey, that’s what you’re supposed to do.”
Now she is clearly struggling with it. This is the ugly side of fighting an illness.
